A blog about solitude

I am hungry

Today I ate 2 veggie hot dogs for lunch. One was a Chicago dog, super sour, laced with pickles, onions, relish, peppers, and mustard. The other was a barbecue dog, with pickles, onions, and barbecue sauce. Needless to say, I do not feel full right now. The theme of this blog post is: does anyone else feel happy when they are hungry? As I am writing with this post, I feel a tinge of excitement. It feels good to be hungry - provided you're not starving of course. Like, you have something to look...

The world is a kaleidoscope

People go through the same life experiences. They are born, they grow old, and then they die. There are other common life experiences as well. Going to school, getting married, securing a form a livelihood, and so on. In groups they travel, like a school of fish or a flock of birds, attending to errands, social obligations, and entertainments. They may find delight in the company of others. Sleeping on your right-hand side is actually optimal

Sleeping on your right-hand side is actually optimal. This is because your heart is located slightly left of center. Respect the tomato

A while back, I tried the Pomodoro method to defeat procrastination. I downloaded an extension called Tomato clock on my Firefox browser. Logical arguments are overrated

I once expressed an opinion to someone, explaining my point of view. "That sounds very logical," he replied. I could tell he wasn't very convinced. It IS possible to explain and to rationalize. To enumerate reasons and reasons behind each thought. But at the end of the day, all that is pure COPE. Every opinion rests, to some degree, upon faith. There is volition behind it - the decision to accept or reject a viewpoint. In a hypothetical scenario where one were to encounter a disagreement i...

Friendship between hippo & rhino

Yesterday I watched a video. It was about a hippo who was raised around rhinos and thought he was also a rhino. The hippo had a rhino friend whom he always followed around, doing rhino things together. Eventually, the caretakers at the rescue center introduced the hippo to a female hippo. He learned how to do hippo things from the female hippo. He still hung out with his rhino friends, but over time he spent more and more time with his hippo companion. Eventually, the rhinos were released from...

Working on Black Friday

Today I came to the office on Black Friday. The office is pretty empty. It feels more relaxing than a typical workday. Why take a holiday when everyone else is also on holiday? Better to take a holiday while everyone else is at work, and work while everyone else is on holiday. ...
