Day 3 (12.25.19) - Bohemian Rhapsody

Bohemian Rhapsody is the height of perfection in formula and cliche. The plot points, arcs, emotional waves and crests, everything was predictable and formulaic. Right down to the facial close-ups; everything supported the predictable, vanilla nonsense that simplified the great life of Freddy Mercury, now (since the film) widely hailed as the greatest frontman in rock history. Casting Rami Malek was the finest stroke of brilliance. His superb acting takes the forefront, making otherwise sophisticated viewers forget about the fact that this film is as formulaic and predictable as a Christmas movie. This is the real art of the movie and the real achievement of all Marvel Movies. And this art, this sweet garbage, should be appreciated for what it is. Merry Christmas to Rami Malek, Merry Christmas to Freddy Mercury, and Merry Christmas to the director whose name doesn't matter because Bohemian Rhapsody could have been made by an algorithm.

Praise the gods of entertainment.
