thoughts, reflections and photos

I am blogging. Or journalling. Will this work?

All-age Christmas service

This morning we had our all-age Christmas service. It was a little chaotic but that's what you get working with children. We didn't communicate songs properly with Steve. It was all a little rushed in preparation from my point of view but it was a good service. Not many visitors. The dad of the only visiting family ended up having to come between R and M who were having an argument outside church.

However it was a good morning overall.

Yesterday I quit Twitter. I feel happy and liberated, even though I hardly used it in recent days.

Christmas 2019

This is Cecile. Our 7 year-old daughter bought her in France in the summer of 2019. Cecile is Favourite Panda Number One.

Outside lights

We bought and fixed up some Christmas lights for outside our house. Us and next door are looking all bright and sparkly.

Highlights from 2 Timothy

Here are the verses that stood out to me this morning from reading the entirety of the Apostle Paul's second letter to Timothy.

...our Saviour Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him. An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonourable, he will be a vessel for honourable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil your ministry.

Sitting in my car, in a car park, with the rain beating down.

I have to go and deposit leaflets in the church to give out to congregation on Sunday morning.

I have to go and deposit a cheque in our bank account.

And I have to go to my office and read theology for an hour, as my new timetable below prescribes.

However right now it is easier and less damp to stay in my car.

I take photos. And now it appears I can use markdown to display my google photos here. How marvellous.

Holy Spirit

I know I'm welcome, and I appreciate that. But now what do you want me to do? What is your desire that I do? Ask me. Be expectant of me moving as you speak out in faith. We are working together.
