There was no wind, there was no movement, there was nothing. The world? Didn't exist. Nothing existed whatsoever-- except two deities who didn't know the other existed.
God was a being of love โ unconditional love, mixed with power, forgiveness, understanding, and honesty. He was a divine power that created life in whatever form it may take.
Satan, on the other hand, was the complete opposite. He was a being of chaos-- destructive chaos, darkness, and deceit. He was a divine power that could destroy life, no matter the case.
These two, though completely different, both knew what a soulmate was. They had created it in their minds since They became a form. The only thing They didn't know was if They would ever meet their soulmate. But about 300 years before the stars were born...
God floated through the nothingness, calling out to whatever could hear Him. Large, white wings with powder white feathers sprouted from His back, and a large, sun-like halo surrounded His head, which sprouted long and luscious brunette hair that ran all the way down His back. His eyes were completely white and glowed softly like an aesthetic. Around each one of His wrists and ankles, a small, yellow ring encased it in a gentle glow that lit Him up like a Christmas tree. His hands were tightly clasped together in front of His chest as He continued to search for the one thing He was even there for-- love.
"Hello? Is anything out there?" He called out, His powerful voice booming into the nothingness and echoing back around Him like a boomerang. He sighed, terribly confused and hurt, and His wings carefully drooped along His back. However, before He could sulk for too long, another loud and booming voice rang out from the darkness.
"Who art thou? Why are thou here? You dare disrupt peace?"
The voice sounded annoyed and angry-- irritated even. God stopped for a moment to take a deep breath before He spoke out again.
"I am God, creator of life. I am looking for My soulmate... the only other being alive at this time. You must be it!"
He waited for a moment, simply listening, but all He could hear was a soft gasp in the distance. A few minutes passed by, and He began to lose hope. As He started to turn and float away in a new direction, He heard something behind Him-- something like a growl, and He spun back faster than the speed of light. Standing in front of Him, His face nearly just inches away from His own, was another deity of high power. He was a little bit larger than God and looked way different. His skin had a red undertone, and on top of that, His eyes were jet black, and He had silky black hair that nearly covered His slightly pointed ears. Out of the top of His head sprouted black and crimson horn-like appendages, shooting skyward. Large black and crimson wings tore violently from His back and spread like the darkness that enveloped Them regardless, and God couldn't help but feel breathless. A long, arrowed tail sprouted behind Him around His tailbone that was also jet black. His mouth curved upward in a wicked smile, revealing sharp fangs that gaped out of his mouth. He waited for a moment before speaking up.
"You, God, are My soulmate? My other half? How is that to work when I am the Prince of Darkness? When I am the eye of evil?" He watched as the chaotic entity tilted His head, confused and genuinely asking. There was something, albeit God was too starstruck to think properly, about this insanely amazing being. Something God had never seen for a million years. It took Him forever to squeak out anything at all.
"Yes, it is true. We are the only ones. We became beings under the impression that We were going to find our soul link-- our divine connection. We are made for each other, and We are certainly made to create everything together. There is something beautiful about both love and hate, creation and destruction, perfection and chaos. We are supposed to be together, Satan."
The next few seconds were surreal. Nothing movedโno thoughts, no motion, nothing at all. Then, as if that silence didn't just occur, everything snapped. The light between the two of them shattered as their lips collided, and the remnants of the light shot everywhere. The stars were almost born, and over the course of time, they would become all that they are meant to be: beautiful, storytelling, and designed by divinity.
That's where their story began, but for them, the end will never draw near.
