Montreal

The rain here is light and unceasing. Temporary exposure has no effect. Prolonged exposure, however, can result in debilitating agitation. There are no rain clouds, the sky is instead a persistent light gray. There is almost no way to deal with it. Umbrellas offer no protection from the odd angles created by the wind. Rain jackets are just as useless; the rain drops are microscopic. Sometimes, you can't even see them, you just feel you are getting wetter. Perhaps the atmospheric pressure in Montreal is such that it causes the miserable wet to come from within you. There is no defending against this insanity. The only thing to do is to not go outside.

When the sun finally shows, Montreal becomes one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

This piece on Montreal is part of a larger, and mostly unpublished, series on travel to inspire exploration.
