1. Overview

Thank you for using Bike Scale (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the App. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Please read this policy carefully.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal information or user data outside of your device. Specifically:

  • We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying information.

  • We do not collect location data, device identifiers, or usage analytics.

  • We do not use third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking technologies.

  • We do not have access to any data you enter into the App.

  • We do not transmit any data to external servers or cloud services.

The one exception to the above is the optional "Buy me a coffee" tip feature, which necessarily involves a small amount of purchase-related data — see Section 4 below.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

All data you enter into the App — including build information, part/component records, weights, and any other content — is stored locally on your device only. This data:

  • Remains entirely under your control at all times.

  • Is never transmitted to us or any third party.

  • Is not backed up to any cloud service by the App itself.

  • May be included in your device's local backup (e.g., iTunes/Finder backup) if you have configured your device to do so, but this is managed entirely by your device operating system and is not initiated by the App.

4. Third-Party Services

The App integrates one third-party service, RevenueCat, used solely to process the optional "Buy me a cup of coffee" tip available under Settings > Support the Developer. This is a one-time, entirely optional in-app purchase — declining it does not limit any app functionality.

When you choose to send a tip, RevenueCat and the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play) receive the information necessary to process and validate that purchase, such as:

  • A randomly generated, anonymous app-user identifier (not your name or email — the App has no accounts or login).

  • Purchase and transaction details (e.g., product identifier, price, transaction receipt).

  • Basic device/platform information (e.g., iOS or Android, app version).

This information is used only to complete your purchase and is not linked to any personal profile, since the App does not collect names, emails, or other identifying information. It is not used for advertising, cross-app tracking, or behavioral analytics. You can review RevenueCat's own privacy practices at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

Outside of this optional purchase flow, no other third-party SDKs, advertising frameworks, or crash-reporting/analytics tools are embedded in the App.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Because the App does not collect any personal data from any users, no special handling of children's data is required. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

6. Data Security

Because all data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data depends on the security of your device. We recommend:

  • Using a strong passcode or biometric lock on your device.

  • Keeping your device's operating system and apps up to date.

  • Using encrypted device backups when backing up your data.

7. Your Rights and Data Deletion

Since we do not collect or store any of your build/part data on external servers, there is no such data held by us to request access to, correct, or delete. To remove all data associated with the App:

  • Delete the App from your device. This will remove all locally stored app data.

  • If you have a device backup that includes app data, manage that backup through your device's backup settings.

Purchase transaction records related to the optional coffee tip (Section 4) are held by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat, not by us. To review or manage that information, use your Apple ID / Google Account purchase history and privacy settings, or RevenueCat's own privacy resources linked above.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or applicable laws. Any updates will be posted within the App or on the App Store listing. The "Effective Date" at the top of this policy reflects when it was last updated. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
