Parasite

If I was a financial parasite who had become very rich by extracting wealth from a society, I'd be a bit worried about current demographic trends. Birth rates are very, very low: population decline in many wealthy countries is imminent or already happening. And population decline, other things being equal, means relatively more old people: people who need care and financial support coming from a relatively smaller number of young people.

What this smells like, if it continues, is either economic collapse or a radical reorganisation of society along lines which almost certainly involve extracting wealth from financial parasites. Neither is good for parasites like me.

There is an obvious solution: allow immigration from areas where the population is still growing. That doesn't work because the society that has the problem is extremely racist.

What would I do? Remember I care about other people only insofar as I can suck wealth from them. Well, I'd do two things.

Firstly, I'd encourage a higher birth rate. I would start trying to force women to have children. I'd make abortion very hard. I'd work towards banning contraception. I'd work very hard to encourage women to be seen as wives and mothers first, and as humans only second, if at all. Rape would be overlooked and even encouraged, especially within marriage or other existing relationships.

Secondly I would try and do something about the life expectancy: to reduce the financial burden placed by the old on society and thus increase the amount of money I can suck out of it, I need people to die younger. I would make healthcare more expensive and harder to qualify for. I would discourage vaccination so disease kills more people. And so on.
