indentured servitude

Why is Musk falling out with the poorer fascists about immigration?
Well, remember that Musk is a financial parasite. What he, and his fellow parasites, do is to suck money out of the society that hosts them to enrich themselves. And they're parasites: they don't care if this kills their host society, so long as they can find another one to move to or complete their life-cycle in some other way. In Musk's case he probably thinks that, when his larval stage is complete, the adult Musk will live in glory on Mars. That's not going to happen, but parasites are not usually very smart and he hasn't worked that out.
For this to work, Musk needs several things:
- he needs to suppress the level of education in his host society, as otherwise people will be more likely to realise what he's doing;
- he needs to keep people distracted, for instance by stirring up invented conflict and hatred amongst people, which is why he bought twitter;
- he needs to be able to dispose of those who do realise what he's doing, by eroding legal protections and rights and, ultimately, by setting lynch mobs on them, for which fascism is very useful;
- as he is of, at best, mediocre intelligence, he needs an endless supply of smart people to work on his
feeding systemmoney supply.
The first thing is in conflict with the last: he needs highly-educated people but he also needs to reduce educational standards. How does he solve this problem?
Well, he imports people on terms which give them almost no rights. He relies on highly-educated people from other societies and brings them in under arrangements which make their permission to live in the US entirely dependent on their continuing employment, which continuing employment can be terminated without notice or recourse.
This is, essentially, indentured servitude. Traditionally, indentured servitude was fixed-term slavery: the person subject to it would work without pay for some term in order to fulfil some obligation, such as the cost of bringing them to the country. This is not quite like that: Musk's imported labour will get pay, but they will not get rights, and they will always be subject to deportation if they become inconvenient to him.
Such people, although they will be well-educated and probably fully aware of what is happening, will never mention it in public, as this would certainly constitute 'being inconvenient'. They will be a tame, obedient, source of labour and intelligence for Musk.
Will this work? My guess is no, it won't. Firstly it crashes directly into the xenophobia associated with the fascism that Musk has encouraged. Unlike the plutocrats, the fascists don't want foreigners as slaves workers in the US: they don't want them in the US at all. We're seeing that conflict erupt now. Secondly the consequences of Musk and the other parasites' uncontrolled feeding on US society, together with the fascist they've brought to power, will probably be that the US becomes a profoundly unattractive place to work, especially if you don't have white skin. Potential immigrant labour will pick other, more attractive, places to go.
