November 2025: Diagnosis Delayed

Fifth Session
……….
I thought that the outcome from the 10th October would be a definate diagnosis.
Far from it.
The Consultant Neurologist, also named Jonathan, greeted Chris and me.
The neurologist had received a comprehensive report from the Speech and Language Therapist. Other reports, and the MRI scan, weren’t there.
He took about 40 minutes asking questions, also physical: walking straight (difficult with my flat feet), balance, etc.
He said he couldn't give me a diagnosis at this time because he haven’t seen the MRI scan.
He would write a letter around 2 weeks, which he has now done.
We have been given the next meeting in 3 months, and discussing the test results. And, hopefully, getting a final diagnosis.
The neurolost talked us through a PET scan and Lumbar Puncture. It may help people with potential alzheimer side plate in the future. Unless it hurts. I’ll check that.
I have now been given an appointment on Friday 16th January 2026.
……….
Today (3/11/2025)
Chris and I have been asked to join in a ‘communication skills group’. We don’t know what it entails except that it will be weekly 5 afternoons beginning in January 2026. It will be organised by the Speech and Language Therapist.
Nothing now is expected to happen for a couple of months.
Let’s see what comes along.
