What is the nature and purpose of creative expression ?
Creative expression to me is a mechanism to express your emotions and thoughts. It is not a task or something that has to be done, it something you enjoy and the motivation comes from within. The best part about creative expression is that it can be done in an infinite amount of ways, for example you can dance, sing, paint, write, design or bake. As humans we develop our minds to think creatively even if we don't want to, being creative is inevitable. Without realising creativity is around us, it is what helps us evolve. Besides this, creative expression helps bring people together. For example, a song can have a piece of lyrics in it that expresses a certain emotion and another person can then hear this song and also feel this emotion. Creative expression can be a coping mechanism without actually seeking help, it can make people feel less alone.
