It was totally cold, scary, and worth it.
So after a LOT of hesitation, distraction, feet dragging, and procrastination I went out and laid in the stream.
For some reason, it was impressed upon me that I bring my underwater, flashlight, and my snorkel gear.
So just surrendering and trust to the impressions, I was given, went out and laid in the stream.
Like normal I have my alarm set for five minutes, which is normally plenty. And I don’t know if it was because I was already pretty cold or if both the water in the atmosphere were cold today, but man, it was chilly.
So I’m sitting there with only my head above water, snorkel goggles snorkel on fuel in the cold water wrap around the rest of my body, and I decided to follow submerge facing the oncoming water.
While I was in the process of this, my alarm had gone off and I decided to stay in longer.
There’s something really cool and peaceful about seeing how the plant life underwater moved as the currents were sweeping across.
Then out of nowhere, there was a dark long wiggling thing moving towards me.
It moves so fast I could barely tell what it was only to find out as it got closer that it was a salmon.
Never mind you this was just a little guy maybe only about 4 to 5 inches long. Around this time of year they can get up to 20 inches long.
This is both alarming and comforting at the same time.
It appeared as much as I was surprised by him being there he was surprised by me being there and sped off.
The introduction of salmon in the stream tends to entice predators, like eagles bears and coyotes.
So from now on until I get my cold plunge tub set up at home I’ll need to be keeping more of a watchful eye on where I choose to dip.
