On my walk before getting to my client appointment today, I was directed to not take my weights with me.
Thinking this was a tad odd as I do weighted functional movement about every other day, I decided to listen and leave them behind.
As I was walking the path that is parallel to the stream, I was prompted to “go to the stream”.
I looked around and there wasn’t a place I could get close to the stream other than where a kind looking older couple were standing up the trail.
As I approached the couple I noticed they were looking down at the stream as well.
I told them that the salmon have arrived and that I’d had a close encounter with one that smacked me in the face with its tail while cold plunging further down the stream.
They laughed, and the lady said, “If only you had a GoPro on at the time”
Then told me about a small waterfall that had been developed as a result of the heavy rain we have had. And where to find it.
It’s on my list of where to walk/ exercise to next.
I’m glad I didn’t bring my weights, took the path along the stream, and went towards the stream, otherwise I wouldn’t have gotten the opportunity to meet Gill and Denise as they were out on their walk.
I am grateful for the joy and togetherness we got to share, if even for just a couple moments.
God is good.
