A Good Long Day

After a long night of facing lots of shadow and lots of darkness, today was filled with connection and love and understanding.

Although, in my morning walk, things started out pretty rough as I was still feeling deep in sorrow.

But through a lot of prayer and a lot of soul-searching, I was able to find peace.

Now this didn’t come all at once. And it was only five minutes before I either needed to take my boys to the bus or walk them to school that I was directed to take them to school.

In all honesty, I was not feeling great and didn’t really want to go and be around people.

But as we begin our walk to school with my youngest in a stroller and my oldest walking beside me, I began to step-by-step feel just a little bit better.

Discontinued as I had the chance to have really fun talks with my oldest about the salmon swim in the stream. About how important it is to clean up and look after nature by picking up trash as we find it.

It was the start to a day that I needed after having been surrounded by darkness and the pull of the abyss.

Very grateful for the answering of my prayer for peace.

And for trusting in God to help me with what I face.
