The Contrast to The Dark
I had the privilege to drive my oldest to a Dr appointment this morning.
As we do when we are just him and me, we talk about important things.
This is one of my greatest joys as a father, in getting to know, understand and deep in my relationship with my loves.
What was impressed upon me to share with him is how grateful that God chose my wife and I to be his parents.
And although we may not always get it, right we still hope that we’re giving him everything that he needs.
And that no matter what life throws at him to remember that he’s loved cared about important.
And that he could come to us with anything, and we will still love him and be there for him and support him.
No matter how old he gets, no matter what he may do or what may happen to him that he’s always got us.
I really hope that the seeds that are being planted now grow him into the man that will make a positive difference in the world in his own unique way.
I really want all of this for him because at his age I was alone without support while being harmed by others.
For me “No Man Stands Alone” starts with letting my boys know that even as they grow they’re never alone. Whether it’s God or whether it’s me, there’s always a father looking after them.
