From one Light to Another

Part of my journey and finding out how I’m experienced by others is by asking them how they experience me.

Today because we had the time to my boys and I walked to school a different direction than we normally do.

This lead us to entering the school grounds on the opposite side that we normally do which is where they have crossing guards to keep the kids safe in the top of the streets.

One of those crossing yards has always been Joyful, kind, thoughtful, and very very appreciative of kindness that has been shown to her.

After dropping my boy off at school, and on my way out, she was returning to the school from her crossing guard duties and she stopped me to chat for a moment.

She had shared that she sees me on my walk with my boys and how we stopped to appreciate the natural beauty in which we live and how we talk the whole time.

She shared how much a lot of people are just kind of drowning through life Stuck in the same patterns, not doing anything different than what they had done before and don’t really take the time to “stop and smell the roses“.

And so I shared with her how much her light and joyfulness and kindness and consideration for others is very much appreciated.

I then had a chance to ask her how she experiences her interactions with me as her and I have had many short but positive connections over the years where we have shared goodness and appreciation of the light that each other had brought to the moment.

What she had shared was so striking the accurate and heartwarming that my eyes began to tear up.

She said that she sees me walking to school in the morning with my boys and how we take time to talk and appreciate the beauty in life around us in this awesome place that we live in.

She expenses me as a good father that’s there to listen to understand help and support my children.

And she also brought in that she experiences me as kind and someone who brings light with them wherever they go.

Someone that sees and appreciates goodness and light in others.

This is both great and hard to hear as I have fully accepted the dark aspects of myself. My light is still something I’m in the process of fully accepting and assimilating.

Which is incredibly ironic because more and more Helping people accept an operate from the best aspects of all of themselves seems to be at the core of everything that I do both personally and professionally.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to speak to someone who is operating in their light so they could be a reflection of my own.
