Recent upgrades have been made which has made this service either through the browser or app unusable.

Doodle provided a quick and easy way to arrange an event or meeting without the need to exchange a large number of emails. There was a free service which was great and then more functionality if you sign up for there subscription service.

Recently doodle have updated the app and the website. A large number of functionality has been removed. Here is a brief list of functionality which has been removed:

1. Export at the end of the poll to either pdf or CSV - removed (notes on the website suggests this is coming back)
2. No longer able to make a poll which is not date specific, ie menu choices etc
3. The app offers no functionality, nearly everything you click on, it takes you to the web browser. Initially your currently polls did not synchronise to the app however I believe this to be a bug as it was rectified in a subsequent update.

So I had was sent to research the web for alternatives which having had a look at a couple both subscription services and free. During my research I can across FRAMADATE (www.framadate.org).

So initial thoughts and positives:

1. No account required
2. System appears to be built with privacy in mind,
3. The system is completely open source
4. Can password protect the poll link (not admin)
5. Auto close at a date you control
6. Emailed updates to the creator of the poll
7. Can make one of two types of poll: date/time poll or options poll (ie menu options etc)
8. Customised notifications
9. Can limit options per person that takes park in the poll

Negatives

1. Password can be used for people you send the poll link. However the password does not protect the admin
2. No app for either Android/Apple (some would say this is not a disadvantage)
