Learning How to Learn #1

I have to start somewhere, so I guess a bit of backstory?
Writing summaries of things I've learned is something I've always had trouble with. For as long as I can remember. Maybe it's the way my flavour of ADHD functions.
I've only had my diagnosis since October 2025, and as everyone else that has gotten late diagnosis, I've gone through the 5 stages of grief. Except there was no denial. The anger towards everyone for not seeing it when I was a kid. The sadness/depression that comes with accepting that the symptoms in girls just weren't as recognised as they're becoming today. The acceptance paired with the grieving of a life I will never have because I didn't get the support I needed early enough.
I've gotten over it. And I truly feel like I'm a better person for it. Already that the forms/questionaires are a pretty raw introspection of oneself. I have forgiven my parents for not seeing it, both have undiagnosed ADHD.
My dad has always been in his element so it never really showed as a typical case. My mother had custody of me, and even if I spent almost all weekends with my dad or the entirety if my summers with my grandparents, much of her struggles became mine. I'm still struggling with many issues. But I can at least be proud of myself for taking certain steps to make my life better before bringing a new one into it. None of it is easy, but it's a work in progress. I'm medicated and constantly learning new ways or refining older ways of working with my neuro-divergence.
