Captured Minds

I'm bored with technology, something I already have at best a tenuous relationship with. It is also extremely difficult to escape. I don't use social media. None. I haven't for over a decade. It's not that hard, you just don't use it, make adjustments.
I primarily am concerned with tech in a privacy-centric manner. I could get into a nuanced and bloated discussion about end-to-end encryption, open-source alternatives to the Apple and Google ecosystems, private email and messaging, VPN, Tor, privacy-preserving cryptocurrencies, on and on.
At risk of sounding pedantic, or transitioning into a how-to privacy guide, I prefer to consider the threat to creativity, dialogue and human spirit that has resulted from the captive portals of Big Tech, and the degradation of the internet.
But behaviorally, it goes deeper than this. We have been conquered. We have been conquered and don't seem to put up much fight. An era of captured minds, 100% enmeshed with smartphones. I don't need to paint much of a portrait here, it's obvious how prevalent this is.
If you are attempting to, or have broken free, let's collaborate.
