They come and they go.
In racing, circumstances can arise in which it seems a driver or team is a shoo-in for the victory, or at least a contender, only for that chance to slip away as the laps wind down. The change in performance may be due to wear on the car or driver, changing track conditions, penalties, differing strategies, etc. Sometimes, a race can go through phases where different cars play the favorite for a time or trade it back and forth. Many of this week's events featured prominent changes of fortune as the competition wound down, some of which you may notice in these clips:
2. An intense four-way battle in the closing laps of the Echopark Automotive GP!
5. Aston Martin's Valkyrie LMH spreads it's... wing?
Bonus carnage: Trouble on a restart in the ZMAX CARS Tour season opener results in massive damage to multiple cars.
Notably absent from appearance in this list are clips from IndyCar's first race of the season in St. Pete, and while it had its moments, this was an event best experienced whole or in extended highlights, as the critical entertainment was in the long game of strategy and skill played by the competitors.
Please remember that while I may not always share what the community thinks is the best clip of the week, I do share what I think is interesting and others may enjoy. More motorsports series are starting their seasons in the coming weeks and months, so the diversity of clips will only increase. Stay tuned!
