Sleep

The most important and the most time-taking thing in a cat’s life or day is probably sleeping.

Cats have techniques to sleep faster and more comfortably.

First one is that they never sleep in a place where there is a bad smell or where it’s not clean at all. But remember, for cats mud is clean.

Second is that they don’t mind any sound. Even if there is a party going on beside it, it’ll probably just carry on with its sleep. Actually even humans beings have this technique. Maybe you remember at least one time when you slept with a chatter going on in the background. That is sometimes even more comfortable.

Third is that they really enjoy sleeping in your lap or other warm places. They like to cuddle in. When you pet it, remember you will have to pet for a bit longer than you think as they won’t stop meowing otherwise.

Fourth is their breathing pattern. Even though I have not quite understood that technique, I’m pretty sure it’s different than ours. I think they inhale really long but exhale less and fast. And also there is a type of special rhythm too. Again, this is just my thinking and I’m not pretty sure if that’s right.

Fifth is their sleeping shape. They usually fall asleep anywhere and anytime. But they sleep according to how safe they feel. I remember one of my cat sleeping like a human in my lap. His hands were sloppy and hanging. But if it’s not sure about its surroundings, it’ll sleep in a sitting pose. So it varies.

They also have sleep deepness levels. For example sometimes they won’t care if there’s an earthquake, breaking glass’ sound or anything like that. You’ll probably have to open a plastic bag (as they like treats so much) or shake the cat to wake it up. But some just sleep as if it’s in a dangerous area. Only his eyes will be closed not its senses. Sometimes even its eyes would be open. Some humans are also able to do this.

Lastly, sleeping of cats depend on what type of cat it is. Most are sleepy-heads and some are jumping around the whole time. I had both types of them.

Don’t worry though, you’ll definitely enjoy seeing it sleep.
