Review | Odyessey by Christopher Nolan

Movie is below average, in almost every respect but the choice of the theme undoes all deficiencies. I only had a very vague understanding of Iliad and Odyssey, but now have an improved grasp.

Highly Educative in

  • Knowing a mariner’s life in those days which was so very influential.
  • The distance one has to cover AFTER victory.
  • The tragedy and meaningless of war( Odyssey was perhaps the Ashokan pillars for Ancient Greece).
  • The absolute centrality of men women mutual charm in the affairs of the world ( A world fighting for Helen, A country waiting to marry Penelope). World revolves around it in a manner we tend to underestimate.
  • For your story to transcend ages, you have to speak in style, in a guttural yet polished pitch.
