Dr. Simone Gold Calls Out USAToday’s Censorship of Her Op-Ed, ‘We Do Not Consent’

Susan says: "I have shared many posts over the last 4 months, but I could never articulate my thoughts well about the mask. I scrolled past many, many posts yelling at "us" to wear a mask, often saying we were selfish, stupid, unscientific and worse , if we even voiced any different point of view, while still continuing to wear them as required. Only once or twice did I answer back to someone's shaming post and it was never taken well. Me? I have been a half-masker. I have never worn a mask to walk down the street or to open the door or drive in my car, etc. but yes,I have worn them in the store, on my way into the restaurant, etc.. I have been afraid to be shamed publicly, too afraid to cause a scene. Even when upset, I told people they could wear a mask if they want, because it's "It's a free country" but I knew in my heart it was the wrong thing to say because I didn't really mean it. I read this today and it resonated with me. What also resonates with me is this piece your time.e on censorship. I was a journalism major and have spent much of my life crafting pieces and editing the work of others.. I understand how the deletion of just a few words can change the entire message. This is not editing, it is censorship and it is a pandemic.

People who are apathetic toward their own liberty cannot eliminate Constitutional rights for those who are not. This is not the first (or last) time that people who believe in superstition are screaming the loudest. The Constitution exists precisely to protect all people during times of mass hysteria...."
