Nuclear Energy v American LNG

🇫🇷 🇺🇸 There is no contest between American LNG and nuclear energy. American LNG has helped Europe reduce their dependence on Russian LNG. No one is disputing that. But the USA has not been able to boost production to the level Europe really requires, and that is why energy is so expensive in Europe right now. French nuclear energy will not significantly reduce worldwide demand for American LNG, but it will play a huge role in bringing down energy costs for Europeans. That is critical.
Although some countries have become dependent on Russian nuclear fuel for their nuclear reactors that were built with Russian nuclear technology before this war started, no country in Europe will build a new reactor using Russian technology now. Promoting nuclear energy is not going to help Russia in any way. There are other alternatives, such as French and American nuclear technology. The French will definitely use French technology.
I'm happy to see that Italy and France have agreed to cooperate on the use of nuclear energy for industrial purposes. We do not want any of our European allies to fall into a recession, because of high energy costs. We do not want Europeans to suffer a cost of living crisis from high energy costs either.
For Europe energy security is energy diversity. They need a diverse energy portfolio.
