The Happiness Revolution

🇫🇮 I wait until after an election is complete before making any comments on our allies' elections now. I'm sad about Finland's election results. Prime Minister Sanna Marin of Finland was inspiring women around the world to take leadership roles. We were looking forward to another term for her as Prime Minister of the happiest country in the world. She's very young, so I hope she will continue to lead the Happiness Revolution in her next role. The world really needs a Happiness Revolution right now.

I honestly think if she was in a different political party, she would have won again. It's the party politics. The Social Democrats are known for creating policies that boost social welfare. The citizens of happy, wealthy, liberal countries aren't worried about social welfare right now. They are worried about threats to the economy, national security, and the international system. PM Mette Frederiksen of Denmark is the only Social Democrat that has managed to stay in power in Scandinavia, because she shifted to the center.

There has been a shift to the center in all of the Scandinavian countries, because the economy, crime, and immigration are the most important issues. Rises in crime are perceived to be caused by irregular migration in the USA, and apparently this is also true in Scandinavia and the rest of Europe. National security threats from Russia and China loom large on the public conscious in the West as well, and the public apparently understands the correlation between the economy and national security. The public understands that economic strength translates into military strength, and military strength is what everyone needs and wants right now.

France appears to be the only exception.
