Americans Are Annoyed With Turkey

🇹🇷 I would tell Turkey if they don't intend to ratify Sweden's NATO membership, then don't bother coming to Vilnius for the next NATO summit.
Please explain why we are sharing our top secret defense plans for a Russian attack with a country that has a "special relationship" with Russia, especially when that country has even invited Vladimir Putin for a state visit despite the fact that an arrest warrant has been issued for the war criminal.
NATO has declared that all members must settle ethnic disputes by peaceful means, be committed to the rule of law, be committed to human rights, be able to secure sensitive information, and that their domestic legislation and foreign policy must be compatible with NATO cooperation.
Turkey is not willing to settle ethnic disputes by peaceful means. They still have nearly 50,00 troops in Cyprus without the consent of the Cyprus government, dividing the nation into two. Turkey uses inflammatory rhetoric against other NATO members, specifically Greeks and Greek Cypriots. Turkey is also engaged in the ethnic cleansing of Kurds.
Turkey is not committed to the rule of law. They completely ignore Russian sanctions. They intend to ignore an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC). They knowingly allowed a Muslim African-American journalist, who committed no crimes, to be assassinated on their territory by a foreign government without any kind of trial.
Turkey is not committed to human rights. Again allowing a Muslim African-American journalist to be assassinated on their territory by a foreign government demonstrates an obvious lack of respect for human rights regardless of the ethnicity of the individual. According to Freedom House, Turkey is violating numerous human rights and the country is the least free country in all of Europe.
Turkey is not able to secure sensitive information. Anti-American and anti-Western sentiment is strong in Turkey. The Turkish president has declared that he plans to "teach the USA a lesson" in his presidential campaign, and Turkey has a "special relationship" with Russia. Sharing top secret defense plans with Turkey or Turkish individuals is a security risk for the USA and the alliance.
Turkey's domestic legislation and foreign policy is not compatible with NATO cooperation, because of their special relationship with Russia and their inability to maintain a stable economy.
We expect all NATO allies to live up to the commitments of democracy and human rights. These values create a unique way of life within our North Atlantic security community, and protecting that way of life is the purpose of the alliance.
