Cluster Munitions

🇺🇦 We support sending cluster munitions to Ukraine, so they can break through the Russian front line. The munitions the USA is sending have a very low dud rate. Besides that Russia is already using cluster munitions on Ukrainian territory and they have also littered Ukrainian territory with mines. All of these Russian occupied areas will have to be demined after the war, before the civilian population returns, so there will be no additional risk to Ukrainian civilians. Ukrainian civilians are more likely to die from an attack from Russia - it is happening every single day - on average there are close to 20 civilian casualties per day. So the sooner Ukraine can succeed in defeating Russia, the safer Ukrainian civilians will be. The longer it takes to make these decisions on weapons, the more civilian casualties there are. Stalling on these decisions is the biggest danger to civilians.

Ukraine is a democracy, and the Ukrainian government is doing exactly what Ukrainian civilians want their government to do, which is to defend their homeland and recover their territory as quickly as possible with the least loss of life to Ukrainians. The choice to use these munitions is being made by Ukrainian civilians through their elected officials. Extraordinarily, the Ukrainian government also continues to poll their civilian population on many of these decisions - Ukrainians truly are a part of the decision-making process.
