The USA Loves Israel

🇮🇱 I have long been a supporter of the Palestinian cause, and I agree with President Biden and his administration that a two state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is needed. However, the latest terrorist attack on Israel by Hamas is making it extremely difficult for me to sympathize with the Palestinian people at this time. The Palestinian civilians in Gaza are not entirely innocent. They voted for and elected Hamas to be their leader even though Hamas is a terrorist group. They knew Hamas promotes violence and terror and they knew Hamas would commit terrorist attacks against Israel. Yet they have shown their support for these attacks and the violence against Israel by voting for Hamas. Hamas provokes Israel and then uses Palestinian civilians as human shields to hide themselves from Israel's retaliatory actions so that they can declare that Israel is violating international laws when Israel retaliates. The Palestinian civilians are well aware of this and continue to vote for Hamas anyway. Nevertheless, Israel must follow international law and not become a geopolitical pawn in Hamas, Iran and Russia's strategy game.

I believe Russia and Iran are behind these attacks. Russia and Iran are allies. Iran has been supporting Russia's invasion of Ukraine by providing Russia with drones and other materiel needed for Russia's war efforts. Russia is hoping these terrorist attacks will divide the West. Russia is well aware that the European left and right are divided on support for Israel and Palestine, and they know a war between the two would create division in Europe, which has thus far remained united against Russia. Russia also knows that any conflict in the Middle East will arouse anti-Western sentiment in the Muslim world and draw them closer to Iran, and, in turn, Russia. Iran, on the other hand, will use any opportunity they can to inflict pain on Israel, and will use terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah to carryout these attacks whenever possible. Russia is hoping that the West will become distracted with the conflict in the Middle East giving Russia an opportunity for success in Ukraine. Russia hopes another conflict will create more fatigue among Western civilians.

The USA must support Israel's right to defend themselves, and we must assist Israel in defeating Hamas once and for all. Israel has a duty to protect their citizens from terrorist attacks, and defeating Hamas is the only way that Israel can provide Israelis with the security they need. However, Israel must heed President Biden's advice to follow international law, so that we may continue to support Israel throughout this conflict and prevent a huge division in support among our civilian populations and all of our allies. Israel must cooperate with the USA and Europe so that we may stay united against all terrorists: Russia, Iran and Hamas.

The only "double human standards" or "unacceptable bias" I see in the world is among those who refuse to denounce Russia's atrocious war crimes against Ukraine, and Hamas' terrorist attacks against Israel. Yet these same groups are quick to claim that any retaliatory action taken against violence and aggression is a violation of international law, which it is not, while ignoring the terrorist acts that are violations of international law and even praising the attacks and cheering on the terrorists. Israel has every right to defend themselves, and so does Ukraine. We will not tolerate terrorism or aggression from Russia, Iran or Hamas.
