Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

🇮🇱🇵🇸 I think the war could end immediately if Hamas surrendered and the hostages were released. If they don't surrender, they will be hunted down until they do. It's time to make it clear to terrorist groups that they will be severely punished. These terrorist attacks are not going to produce the results they want. We are not going to be kind to terrorists. We are not going to allow them to stay in power. They will lose all of the power they had. They will lose everything they had, because of their heinous actions.
It's time to create a new administration for Gaza to take control of the region and start providing essential services to the Palestinians while Israel continues their manhunt for Hamas members. There is no reason why these two things can not happen simultaneously - they should be happening simultaneously. All Hamas-led services and institutions will be shut down and replaced with new ones led by the new transitional administration. Hamas is not the political leader of Gaza anymore. They are not in power anymore. They are nothing more than criminals on the run hiding out in Gaza. We have to put together a new administration to govern Gaza, to provide essential services to the Palestinians, to distribute humanitarian aid, before their society completely falls apart. The Palestinian Authority has refused the role. That's probably for the best, since they appear to be trying to keep Hamas in control of Gaza.
After Israel clears a specific facility such as a hospital, they know for a fact that there are no longer any Hamas members hiding there, so there is no reason why that facility can not be immediately put back into service and provide essential services to the Palestinians. It can become a safe zone. Israeli soldiers can remain at the facility to provide security and ensure Hamas does not return to the facility. After Israel clears a tunnel, and ensures no hostages are being kept there, they can patch up the tunnel and fill it with water or cement. Israel could essentially comb through the entire Gaza strip in this manner.
Eventually the Israeli soldiers will be replaced with a new security force, hopefully an international security force, to protect the Palestinians from Hamas to ensure that Hamas does not try to retake control of Gaza or any part of it. The sooner we select an appropriate security force for Gaza, the sooner they can replace the IDF. There will be a security force occupying Gaza until we have a final two-state solution and elections are reinstated. That is going to take a lot of time. It's not going to happen tomorrow or next week or anytime soon. Hamas is not going to have anything to do with the final solution or play any future role in Gaza.
If the Arab community does not cooperate, then move forward without them. Once they realize we're not playing around, they will cooperate. If not, oh well, it's not like we didn't try to include them in this process, but they refused to cooperate and be productive. If they refuse to even discuss these issues, we we will have to make decisions without them.
Stop fixating on a ceasefire, and start fixating on taking control of the situation. Put someone in control of Gaza. Get the hospitals up and running. Get the humanitarian aid distributed to the Palestinians. Do this while Israel is completing their mission, do not wait until after their mission is completed.
Defeating Hamas means removing them from power. We should make it impossible for Hamas to do anything other than hide or surrender. Eventually they will run out of places to hide, and surrendering will be the only option left for them. It appears that we are already close to that scenario, because more and more Hamas militants are surrendering to Israel.
"Who is going to run Gaza after the war is over?" That's the question everyone is asking, but that is the wrong question. Who is going to run Gaza right now, and take care of the Palestinians' needs right now? That's the question we need answered immediately. That will be the transitional administration or government, and they will continue to run Gaza when the war is over as well. They will run Gaza until we can establish a two-state solution and reinstate elections. xo
Update:
To clarify my point is that Hamas is obviously a terrorist group, and it is not in the best interests of Israelis or Palestinians for a terrorist group to continue to run Gaza after the war or even right now during the war. Therefore we need to put someone else in charge of running Gaza right now while Israel completes their mission rather than waiting until after the war is over to do so. And the Hams-led institutions need to be shut down now and replaced with new institutions that can serve the interests of Palestinians rather than the interests of Hamas terrorists.
