US-NATO Relations

🇺🇸 I keep reading about the USA's "wobbling" support for Ukraine, and that Europe needs to be more self confident and prepared to defend itself in the wake of US isolationism. Although I believe Europe should not be over dependent on the USA, I also am alarmed that Europe is questioning our reliability as a security partner right now. Some Europeans believe Europe should be more autonomous, and I understand why they feel that way.
I believe that the USA needs to stop being so isolationist or stop allowing the small isolationist minority to affect US foreign policies. The USA needs to be making these kinds of security decisions together with the other members of our North Atlantic security community. We need our allies to be able to have more confidence in our collective security, our agenda, and our foreign policies. Our allies need to be able to have more confidence in our security strategies, and know that we will see them through rather than shift gears or change direction in the middle of a war. This impasse on Ukraine aid is causing a lot of harm to US interests in ways many members of Congress haven't even considered. We need more sophistication in Congress.
The USA really needs more integration with Europe, not isolation from Europe. xo
