US-China Relations

🇺🇸🇨🇳 If China wants to woo investors, they are going to need a new leader. Nothing will scare off investors more than a totalitarian regime constantly making anti-American references. Where does China think the majority of investors come from? Europe does have lots of investors, but most of those investors are also invested in the USA, so the anti-American statements will scare them off too. The alignment between the USA and Europe will never be severed because we are so heavily invested in each other. We invest in one another, because we know our investments are sound. We know Europe will respect property rights and Europe knows the USA will do the same. That's something communist regimes have a hard time doing - respecting property rights. China's ally Russia clearly does not respect property rights. Russia is confiscating businesses, and Russia is confiscating huge territories from other countries. Putin has made it clear to investors that the Russian mafia state is no different than the Russian communist state. Russia is clearly a bad investment choice. No one will invest in Russia ever again unless they are a fool. China being aligned with Russia can mean only one thing to investors, that China does not respect property rights either. Investors won't take that risk in a country with a massive army, nuclear weapons, and a dictatorial regime, not anymore, not after Russia's latest fiasco. Iran and their Houthi buddies are making it even less worthwhile and more risky for investors to invest in countries so far away from their homeland. So being aligned with Iran will obviously not build investor confidence either. The pandemic has also made China less worthwhile for investors for several different reasons. China is just too big of a risk under the current regime and geopolitical situation. The only way China can build trust in investors is to respect property rights. China would need to denounce terrorists that jeopardize shipping routes and attack shipping vessels. China would need to denounce world leaders that invade other countries and steal property. China would need to stop threatening countries that investors are already invested in like Taiwan... etc. These Chinese politicians clearly don't get it. The fact that they are even in Davos trying to woo investors is a joke. xo
