🇯🇵 I'm sorry I am so late with my note, but we are happy that the Prime Minister of Japan was able to visit the USA, to speak to the US Congress, and meet with the president as the guest of honor at the White House. Japan is one of the freest and most prosperous countries in all of Asia with a rich cultural heritage that has been an inspiration for many of the USA's greatest artists like Frank Lloyd Wright, John Cage, and Jackson Pollock to name a few. Japanese culture has had a tremendous influence on modern American culture, and American culture has also inspired a few of the great artists in Japan. We hope that our two cultures continue to be a source of inspiration for each other, and to become a source of inspiration for others around the world. We wish most of all that the USA and Japan, representing both the western and eastern traditions, will inspire other countries in Asia and around the world, to pursue a more open society, to have faith in liberty and democracy, and to trust that liberty will bring prosperity to their homelands as it has done for both of our countries. We look forward to strengthening our alliance with Japan to ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific. xo
