Dear California

🇺🇸 Slavery never existed in California, so issuing an apology for slavery is a false sense of racial justice and it creates a false narrative of US history. That apology will be challenged in the Supreme Court.

We do believe that Black Americans deserve an official apology for slavery, but only from the states where slavery actually existed. I believe President Abraham Lincoln already gave an official apology for slavery at the federal level when he declared civil war on those slave states, defeated them, and abolished slavery. xo
