Dear Donald Trump

🇺🇸 Congratulations on your reelection. There are a few things I just don't understand. Why are you friends with Victor Orban? Why are you friends with a man who prefers Russian gas over American gas? Why are you friends with a man who loves Russia and China more than the USA? Orban is not a power player. Hungary is not a member of the G7. Orban's only relevance in geopolitics is Hungary's membership in the EU and NATO. Without those memberships, they are totally irrelevant. Why do you waste your time with him?

Why don't you support Ukraine? Ukraine desperately needs your help right now. You were the first president to stand with Ukraine by sending them weapons, please don't turn your back on them now. This is your opportunity to prove that you and your team are more competent than the Democrats by accomplishing what they were unable to do - defeat Russia. Allowing Russia to gain territory in Europe and control the Black Sea will make Russia stronger, and it will make Russia more confident and more aggressive in the future. This would be bad for the USA. Russia and China have their eyes on Alaska - on the USA's oil reserves. Their long-term strategy is to gain control of all of the fossil fuel reserves and all of the other natural resources the modern world requires. Their goal is to make the world dependent on them. That's been their strategy in Africa. That's their current strategy in Europe. And that will be their goal in the Arctic as well. The USA and our allies need a long-term strategy for peace, not a short-term strategy for peace. A long-term strategy is the only way to ensure peace in the USA.

War sucks, and it sucks that Russian warmongers started the war in Ukraine. But the war in Ukraine has helped the USA in many ways. It has increased demand for US energy, and it has increased demand for US weapons. Our nuclear industry is also benefitting. Europeans are turning to the USA to replace many of the things they used to depend on Russia for. This has helped the US economy recover from the pandemic. The war has also forced NATO members to increase their defense spending. These are all goals you wanted during your previous term: more trade, more defense spending, and more energy production. We have made a lot of progress on all of those goals while you were out of office. Helping Ukraine has clearly helped us achieve all of the goals you wanted. It's clearly the right thing to do. I hope you will ensure Ukraine wins this war, so that the USA retains it's new role as the largest and most reliable energy producer in the entire world, and this, in turn, will ensure that we remain the strongest nation in the world.
