US-Germany Relations

🇺🇸🇩🇪 The USA loves Germany. I think Merz would be a best suited to work with Trump. I think President Trump was upset with Germany during his first term, because Chancellor Merkel was very combative with him. The two really did not get along very well. I also think Merz is capable of fixing Germany's economy.

I don't think President Trump is going to slap tariffs on Germany or the rest of the EU. I believe all President Trump really wants is for Germany and the EU to discuss trade and defense spending with him. Discussing his concerns and taking his concerns seriously will be key to good relations. Of course, most of these issues have already been addressed during the past four years, so I think Trump just needs to be updated on all of the progress we have already made on these issues. I think the tariff threats are just a warning of how he will respond if European politicians are combative with him again. I think all President Trump really wants is cooperation on the issues he believes are important.
