US-Syria Relations

🇺🇸🇸🇾 I'm very happy that the Biden administration chose to stay out of the civil war in Syria, and to not take sides. It was best for the USA to not get involved during the fighting. Defending Assad would clearly be a mistake, but defending the rebel group would also have been a mistake because they are also guilty of human rights violations and we really don't know what kind of leaders they will be.

We are happy for the Syrian people that the Assad regime is no more. We believe the Syrian people deserved a revolution, and they deserved new leadership. We hope that that the rebel group is reformed, and we hope that the group will be good to the Syrian people.

We are also happy that Secretary of State Blinken has reached out to the new Syrian leadership, and that he has provided some guiding principles for the new regime to consider and follow. We hope we can develop good relations with Syria. We think it would be wise to ensure the new regime does not form an alliance with Russia or Iran. Developing a new relationship with Syria's new regime is the best path forward.

Americans would like to hope for the best in Syria, but we should always be prepared for the worst. Ensuring chemical weapons and other Syrian military assets are destroyed is critical so we may protect the USA and our allies, while also ensuring that these weapons can not be used against the Syrian people as the Assad regime has done in the past.

Syrians will no longer be able to seek asylum in the USA and Europe. Americans and Europeans opened our hearts and our countries to the Syrians when the civil war first began, against the will of many of our national security experts, but we paid dearly for that naivete, as many innocent Europeans and Americans lost their lives to terrorists that used our asylum system to emigrate into our homelands and commit atrocious acts against our citizens. Violent crime rates in once peaceful countries like Sweden are terrifying, and organized crime is on the rise as well. Our duty is to protect the human rights of our own citizens first and foremost, and so we must change our immigration rules.

We have learned a valuable lesson from this crisis. Malicious individuals and groups will always seek to take advantage of our kindness. We can not solve all of the problems in the world, although we would like to, and we must take precautions to ensure we do not import external problems into our homelands.
