We Stand With Ukraine

🇺🇦🇺🇸 We stand with Ukraine. We support Ukraine’s right to self-determination. We support Ukraine’s right to be free of Russian terrorism.

American Liberals support Ukraine’s membership in the EU and NATO. However, we cannot promise Ukraine will get immediate entry into the EU or NATO. We have no say over EU membership, and NATO membership requires unanimous support from all members. Joining NATO is going to be very difficult for Ukraine, because some members have quietly voiced their concern and won't agree to it. Joining the EU is also going to be very difficult for Ukraine, because certain countries in the EU do not want a large, poor country in the EU, especially when they are experiencing financial difficulties. American Liberals do not have any control over this.

Because of these challenges, we recommend that Ukraine join the USA. By joining the USA, Ukraine will have all of the security guarantees they could possibly desire. They would automatically become NATO territory and automatically be protected under the USA's nuclear umbrella. By joining the USA, Ukraine would become safe and secure; Russia would not dare to attack the USA.

This arrangement can be temporary, so it would not deter Ukraine from joining the EU in the future; instead, it will actually bring Ukraine much closer to that goal. By joining the USA, Ukraine would have the security and stability they desperately need to start rebuilding from the war, and Ukraine's economy would experience high growth. As part of the USA, Ukraine would quickly become a wealthy territory, one that EU members will happily welcome into the union, so wealthy, in fact, that EU members may even beg Ukraine to join the EU in the future.

By joining the USA, we can ensure Ukraine's security even while Putin is in control of Russia. Under our protection, Ukraine will be free from Russian aggression and free from Russian corruption and influence. One way or another, Putin will be gone before the decade is over, and Ukraine will be a much wealthier territory by that time. Ukraine will then be ready to join the EU, who will likely be very grateful to have them.

I think Ukraine should reconsider this path. This path is one that American Liberals have the power to manifest, with the good will of the American people and ultimately the support of the US Congress, and it will bring Ukraine much closer to all of their goals much faster than any other path they may choose. It is the fastest and safest way for Ukraine to achieve their goals of joining the EU and NATO. And it will also help the USA achieve some of our own goals.

We don't know what the POTUS has in mind, and we are not sure where European leaders stand on these issues. But we do know that the American people support Ukraine. We will do our best to help Ukraine achieve their goals.
