🇺🇸🇻🇪 When I see the joy in the faces of Venezuelans after asking them about Maduro’s capture, I know it was the right thing to do. I have no doubt we will see the same joy in the faces of Russians and Ukrainians when Vladimir Putin is captured.
President Trump’s rhetoric is obnoxious, but the USA is showing the world that democratic values and the human rights of ordinary people trumps the rights of dictators and terrorists. We have shown dictators that they can no longer hide behind international laws while simultaneously violating them. We are making it clear to world leaders that if they violate international laws and human rights, we will get them and we will do it in the most sophisticated and cost-effective way possible with minimal loss of life. Dictators, war criminals and human rights violators are not protected under international laws.
President Trump did not break the law, but there was a US president who broke international law. His name was George Washington, the greatest man that ever lived, and he did it to create the greatest country in the world, one based on democracy, freedom, and the rights of man. These principles were not protected under international law at that time, not until we changed it. We must ensure that international law continues to protect these principles, even if we have to change it again.
