🇺🇸🇪🇸 The Spanish government seems very anti-American these days. It is very hard for the USA to continue to be allied with a nation that is so clearly anti-American.
It's concerning that a very young democracy like Spain, touting pro-democracy principles, seems more aligned with authoritarian regimes like China and Iran, that have squashed pro-democracy movements, than the oldest democracy in the world.
The USA has a very large Iranian diaspora, including the Shah of Iran. We know what the Iranian people truly want. They want to be free from this regime. This is also what are partners in the region want.
Americans love Spain, and the Spaniards I know love the USA. so we hope these issues can be worked out.
