Liberalism v. Socialism

🇺🇸 American Liberals do not support socialism. We never have and we never will. Socialism is defined as a form of government in which most forms of property are owned or controlled by the state for the benefit of all. However, we know from experience that no socialist system has ever benefited all people. Socialism has always benefited very few people, while subjugating and oppressing all the rest. This is why American Liberals will never support a socialist system.

We believe in economic freedom - the freedom to own property and make a profit - because we know that without economic freedom there is no freedom. Economic freedom is the most important freedom of all.

Liberalism is defined as a political and moral philosophy based on the rights of the individual, liberty, consent of the governed, political equality, the right to private property, and equality before the law. Liberalism is the most successful system, creating the most free and open societies. We refuse to live in any other system, besides a liberal democracy with a capitalist economy.
