What is the point?

It's been a really difficult time of late. Dealing with the fallout of the great AI delusion has been - and is still - one of the saddest times I have had career-wise.

Not in the sense of 'boo hoo, poor me' sad, but in the loss of the point of being interested in software development.

I miss the thrill of digging into various code bases and rough ideas via my own mind. Being a pattern matcher, my mind works on large disparate data best; distilling understanding.

Right now, the directive is to commoditise this process. To relegate capturing shared understanding to the Agent, which no longer means shared understanding at all.

I am sick of reading generated pages of documentation that are 80% fluff; trying to gather the gist of the intent is time consuming.

Now we have the absurdity of long, large group calls reviewing how well the pages were generated. And now we need group calls to attempt to knowledge share, based on 80% fluff.

Uggh. Man.
