ADHD in Men

Well this is most likely what it was. I struggle every single minute. ADHD folks have difficulty letting things go when they know things are not right.

Emotional Symptoms in Men with ADHD
• Irritability over small things
• Low frustration tolerance (quickly “snapping,” then apologizing)
• Feeling overwhelmed by everyday tasks
• Difficulty regulating anger — intensity higher than situation warrants
• Emotional shutdown when overstimulated or stressed
• Impatience in conversations, lines, or slow situations
• Rejection sensitivity (taking criticism hard, even mild comments)
• Shame and guilt cycles — especially after procrastination or conflict
• Feeling misunderstood or “out of control internally”
• Trouble identifying emotions quickly (alexithymia-like)
• Mood swings (not bipolar swings — fast, situation-triggered swings)
• Internal restlessness that feels like pressure or anxiety
• Difficulty relaxing — mind always active
• Overreaction → regret loop
• Feeling isolated because emotions don’t match what others expect

How It Commonly Shows Up in Daily Life
• Snapping at partners/kids then feeling awful
• Avoiding emotional conversations because they feel “too much”
• Feeling attacked when someone gives feedback
• Shutting down during arguments
• Procrastinating because tasks feel emotionally heavy
• Feeling like you’re constantly behind, failing, or disappointing others

Why Men Often Hide It
• Social pressure to appear calm, stoic, or “in control”
• Masking because expressing struggle feels like weakness
• Years of being told they’re lazy, careless, or not trying hard.

Add depression & a rare inflammatory disease on top of ADHD what do you have a very worn out individual that beats his/her self mentally and physically to death. It’s pretty amazing how far I have come employment wise, because that’s all I know how to do.
