MODULE: WATERMELON SELECTION
AUTHOR: dB33p
REVISION: 1.0
STATUS: STABLE
OBJECTIVE:
Identify a structurally sound, high-confidence watermelon.
Reject all inconsistent units.
FIELD SPOT (PRIMARY SIGNAL)
Locate ground contact area.
- Deep yellow / orange → PASS
- Pale / white → REJECT
- No field spot → REJECT
NOTE:
Field spot confirms maturation time on ground.
MASS / DENSITY CHECK
Lift and assess relative weight.
- Heavy for size → PASS
- Light → REJECT
NOTE:
Higher density correlates with internal integrity.
STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY (RIND TEST)
Apply light thumb pressure across multiple points.
REQUIRED:
Test minimum 3–5 distributed locations.
- Firm, no give → PASS
- Any softness (“floppy”) → REJECT
RULE:
Failure at any point = full rejection.
No second chances.
RESONANCE TEST (TAP ANALYSIS)
Tap with knuckles.
- Deep, hollow tone → PASS
- Dull / flat → REJECT
NOTE:
Listen for consistent internal resonance.
SHAPE CONSISTENCY
Visually inspect geometry.
- Uniform shape → PASS
- Irregular / distorted → REJECT
NOTE:
External inconsistency often reflects internal defects.
SURFACE PATTERN (SECONDARY SIGNAL)
Evaluate webbing / sugar lines.
- Moderate presence → SUPPORTING PASS
- None or excessive → INCONCLUSIVE
NOTE:
Do not use as primary decision factor.
STEM CONDITION (OPTIONAL CHECK)
- Dry, curled → SUPPORTING PASS
- Green → LIKELY UNRIPE
FINAL DECISION LOGIC
IF ANY:
- Soft rind detected
- Light mass
- Pale or absent field spot
→ REJECT IMMEDIATELY
IF ALL PRIMARY CHECKS PASS:
→ ACCEPT (HIGH CONFIDENCE UNIT)
SYSTEM NOTE:
A valid watermelon presents consistent signals
across all test layers.
Inconsistency is not localized.
