Civil, co-operative politics

All candidates in the Wotton Ward
I felt I had to send an e-mail around to all the candidates standing for election in the Wotton Ward on Thursday, copied to Wotton-Under-Edge Town Council after a meeting last night.
All candidates in the Wotton Ward & Glos PCC candidates,
It was good to see a number of you at the packed public meeting in Wotton Civic Centre last night. A number of very important topics, to the town, were discussed.
There was potential for the meeting to get out of hand but was chaired brilliantly Jon Turner.
Given the protracted timelines, there was plenty of 'blame' that could have been voiced, however it was unexpectedly refreshing to see and hear all the parties involved working pragmatically and cooperatively towards achieving the best possible outcome for the town and its residents (including those living next to the Symn Lane car park).
I hope that good, civil and co-operative politics will continue long after the election, last night was masterclass, and is why I want to wish everyone good luck in the elections on Thursday.
Regards
Gareth Kitchen
