Stinchcombe Parish Council Meeting October 2024

Stinchcombe Parish Council Meeting

9th October 2024

Stinchcombe Village Hall

Again, it was a pleasure to attend Stinchcombe Parish Council meeting last night along with SDC Cllr Braun. Here are my personal notes.

There was an update on actions from the previous meeting. Some discussion of first aid training to complement the defibrillators.

A member of the public was able to speak at the public forum to raise the work of Stinchcombe Speed Watch relating to the levels of speeding on the lower part of Taits Hill Road. The group wants to purchase a AutoSpeedWatch camera costing about £1200 with installation and £550pa running costs. Vehicles triggering the camera would be sent a letter by the Police and repeat offenders can be identified. The Police would pass on postage costs but the number of letters could be capped to manage budget.

SDC District Councillor Report. Cllr Braun answered some questions about the new Local Plan and the new planning guidance. The situation is complex and has taken much longer than normal but moving in the right direction. The Chair noted some items on Cllr Cohen's County Councillor Report such as the scheme to hand back NHS mobility equipment that is no longer used that could be shared by Council. It was then mentioned that the Parish Council now has a Facebook page as well as a new web site.

The meeting then moved onto planning. Discussion on an agricultural storage barn and mobile field shelter. There was concern about access to the site and impact on AONB. Other planning items on the agenda caused less discussion. Cllr Braun assisted with in asking planning officers for updates on various enforcement actions.

Myself and Cllr Braun left the meeting at agenda item nine.
