the Party

Arda, lvlX halfling wizard apprentice, banished, lawful follower of Madeera (Kim)

Hiralia, lvlX elvish seeker-priest of the Lost, neutral, wanted (Sophia)

Zeb, lvlX goblin initiate-priest of Memnon, chaotic churgeon (Dan)

Yuri, lvlX human wizard apprentice, noble, lawful follower of Ord (Stuart)

TL;DR

• The full party, plus Pol and a few cats, proceeds down the left root-tunnel, setting traps and luring creatures along the way. The primary rat nest is discovered, but the creatures prove evasive. Eventually they are cornered by fire in the far end of the tunnel.
• Pol, who is further up the corridor waiting to spring a trap, is ambushed by giant centipedes. The party rushes to his aid, but the centipedes prove too fast and kill Pol.
• Once the centipedes are safely asleep, the party systematically kills each one, as with the Deep Ones. The dire rat and rat swarm, cornered, are quickly dispatched. Yuri finds a ring of feather fall in the remains of the nest.

END

• The party returns to the Stump Above with Pol's body. The lizardfolk perform their traditional funerary rights amidst swamp-torches as the townsfolk look on from the rim of the Stump.
