Accepting our circle

One of the most mysterious processes to me is accepting what steps into your circle. It paves a clear way forward if you can, but if not, it tends to destroy you from within over time.

I find it provoking and hard to accept that we don't have a say in life, but I have learned that often we don't. Our free will only comes into play after accepting what's inside our circle. That's when we get to shape our life.

Naturally, we can move our circle into different environments and thereby increase the chance of something we would like to be part of actually happening.

However, as time goes by, I find it harder and harder to do so, and I have begun questioning the benefit of it. It seems more productive to simply accept whatever wants to be part of our circle and move the circle on the basis of that.

For example, I don't feel that I have chosen neither wine nor journalism. I feel both has chosen me, but neither of them began evolving together until I decided to accept them as natural parts of my circle. Only then did I experience being able to shape them into a format I can connect with and build a life on.

I think this is a part of human life that we are not nearly enough aware of. We live under the illusion of free will, but it only kicks in after accepting whatever is in our circle.
