I am a learning designer by profession, currently working in higher education, where I help academics design and develop online courses.

My interests in education is much broader though, and I've had a taste working in various other sectors such as schools, corporate retail and NGOs. I am particularly interested in the following areas:

  • The use of technology to support learning and teaching (it is no magic bullet of course).
  • Interdisciplinary ideas to maximise engagement and accessibility in learning e.g. cross-overs from UX design, product design, software principles. I am also a big fan of collaboration.
  • How to empower teachers, and enable them to leverage available technology and other resources.
  • Early Years, particularly literacy and play (the "window of opportunity" with 5-year-olds).
  • Pedagogical theories and frameworks, which I am forever learning and practising :)

I aim to use this blog as a space for ideas and observations, especially in education, technology and design. Disclaimer, I do edit posts regularly.
