Blogging on My Notes

Well, this is cool.

For well over a year now, I've been looking for a note taking app that satisfies all my note taking needs and I have tried several over that period of time.

As a software engineer, I have often found myself overwhelmed with the amount of tasks that need to be done on a day-to-day basis. I started with the OG yellow sticky notes where I jot down my tasks for the day and slowly take them off my desk I get stuff done. For a while this fit the bill -- it's simple, easy to organize, and it was a breeze to integrate into my workflow since it was just as easy as writing tasks on a piece of paper. But then increasingly, I found my work move from having tasks to complete on day-to-day basis to having to answer questions and having to explain concepts or solutions to other engineers or product designers that consult on future projects. These don't fit in sticky notes.

So I moved to a proper notebook. I could fit tasks and thoughts adequately and could freely draw diagrams if need be. At this point I was still adamant on sticking to traditional solutions as I wanted to keep my thoughts visible on something analog so as to create a mental divide between my work and the real world -- this also reduced the amount of time I spent on screens. But alas, it was not for long. As my work began to expand to solutions design, it was becoming incredibly inefficient to have to move from one medium to another in order to create my documents. Of course the more obvious flaw was how difficult it was to copy and paste pieces of code or logs onto an analog notebook. It was then that I decided to try out digital note taking apps.
