Simplifying reality

Among conspiracy theorist there seems to be a strong desire rooted in an anxiety to simplify reality. The anxiety stems from the notion that the world has become too complex for them to understand.

The real explanations have become too inconvenient and a threat to political views, religious convictions and other rhetorics.
It has made explaining the world undesirable.

Reality is simplified to what can only be observed in the most direct sense. Anything inconvenient that cannot be seen with the naked eye is discarded or even ridiculed. In an attempt to take it down to the same intellectual level as their personal convictions, science is portrayed as “just a belief” and "alternative facts" form “my truth”.

The high chaos state of the world is attributed to a singular force or group and is opposed by an equally singular solution.
