Day 5

Day 5, oh my, words cannot do justice for Day 5.  We started out by heading back to Monument Valley for the Valley Road tour.  17 miles in amongst the mesas.

I took so many pictures, just picked one to share.

The valley is just indescribable.  Each mesa is unique, you can tell each one has a story.  How it aged over the millennia to become what it is.  Wind and water carefully shaping each one, bringing out the character of the stone.  You cant help but wonder the awe the Navajo had when they came to this land.

It was tough to leave, but so much more awaited...

Quick drive over to Page Arizona.

And in Page we went immediately over to Horseshoe Bend, a valley formed by the Powel Lake.  And once again, words mean nothing.  Pictures almost capture it.

Every  picture is a postcard, and I have over 500 at the moment.  (Lisa will be proud).  Breath taking sheer cliff walls that both call you and scare you at the same time.  I got as close as my fears would allow me, which was close but no where near what some of the crazy folk.  The above shot was me getting as close as I could and then extending my arm out and taking a blind shot.  Not too bad.

I continue to be humbled by nature. It took millions of years to form what I have seen over the last couple of days.  Little has changed over the entirety of human civilization.  All you can do is admire and try to save away the moment.

And what we have planned for the next couple of days..., well..., thats for tomorrow.
